 BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition, 2017

Winners of the Self Help Africa Science for Development award, sponsored by Irish Aid (the Irish government's international development aid programme), at the BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition, one of the largest post-primary science and technology fairs in the world. The prize included a 10-day R&D trip to Malawi with Self Help Africa, where the spark for Moyo Nua was cemented.

Irish Patent, 2017

Moyo Nua's initial prototype was awarded a 10-year Irish patent for its innovation, under the patent number S86874.

Presidential Reception, 2017

The initiative was recognised by the President of Ireland, Michael D. Higgins, at the presidential residence in Phoenix Park, Dublin, on Saint Patrick's Day in 2017. The reception hosted a variety of notable Irish science and technology pioneers.

Enactus Ireland Innovation Award, 2018

The idea of Moyo Nua was pitched at the Enactus Ireland Grassroots Innovation Challenge in the Chartered Accountants House of Ireland. Moyo Nua won the award outright, along with seed funding of €200.

United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Reception, 2018

Moyo Nua was nominated to represent Irish students' efforts in sustainable development, and the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, when the UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed visited Ireland. Moyo Nua's vision was presented to the Deputy Secretary-General, the Tánaiste (Deputy Prime Minister of Ireland), and senior figures of international development within Ireland.

Citi Pathways to Progress Competition, 2018-2019

Moyo Nua was selected to participate in the Citi Foundation’s ‘Pathways to Progress’ initiative over the academic year 2018/19. Here, Moyo Nua collaborated with Citi in boosting the potential and impacts of the initiative, and was one of the winners in the final showcase of the competition, unprecedented as an inaugural entry to the competition.

Enactus World Project Fair, 2018

Moyo Nua was selected by Enactus Ireland to represent the country at the Enactus World Cup’s ‘World Project Fair’ in Silicon Valley, California. Here, the team presented the project to attendees from across the world, highlighting Moyo Nua’s mission to improve agricultural practices and economic development in a sustainable way.

MIT & Higher Education Authority Future of Work Summit

Moyo Nua was nominated to represent Irish youth’s approach to the future of work, at the Future of Work Summit hosted in Dublin Castle by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Higher Education Authority (HEA) of Ireland.

World Trade Centers Association 'Peace Through Trade' World Champions

Moyo Nua was awarded the inaugural ‘Peace Through Trade’ global championship by the World Trade Centers Association Foundation. The prize included a trip to Quéretaro, Mexico to present at the WTCA’s General Assembly.

The international success of Moyo Nua caught the attention of Forbes, who interviewed two of the members about their recent success in Mexico, and their mission with Moyo Nua.
